A Brief History of The Que Abides

A common misconception is the pronunciation of our name. Both our name & logo are based on the film, The Big Lebowski. Changing the famous line ‘The Dude Abides’ to ‘The Que Abides.’ The ‘Que’ is pronounced just like the letter ‘Q’ or the word ‘Cue,’ and is short for Bar-B-QUE. It is not Spanish in origin. it definitely doesn’t rhyme with diabetes. so now that we’ve cleared that up, let’s proceed.

In 2015 we hit the streets running as Erie PA’s first food truck, and haven’t looked back. We became widely known around the area as the gold standard of mobile food, winning Best Food Truck five years straight, helping to create new food truck events, bringing new crowds to local breweries/distilleries, angering motorcyclists, sobering up festival goers and being responsible for hour+ long lines wherever we went.

From here we developed and strengthened one of the best catering services in the area. From grad parties, office functions, holiday parties, rehearsal dinners and weddings, and everything in-between. We have been told by numerous newlyweds that the most talked about aspect of their wedding was in-fact our food.

Our continued growth & popularity left us with the issue of having outgrown the food truck and commissary kitchen. This lead us to our bricks & mortar location in Fairview, PA!! Opened in April 2022, our new home allows us to provide our delicious Bar-B-Que year round! We are excited to have you as our guests in the restaurant, visitors at the food truck, or beneficiary of our catering!
